DR. MICHELLE
MARKOWITZ, O.D.
Dr. Michelle Markowitz practices full scope optometry. She graduated Magna Cum Lauda from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2008. Dr. Markowitz has worked in a multi-disciplinary ophthalmological and optometric practice where she gained invaluable experience in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, cataracts and kerataconus. She is TPA certified (therapeutic pharmaceutical agents) and has a special interest in low vision rehabilitation and specialty contact lenses including fitting astigmatism, multifocal and rigid lenses as well as hybrid and scleral lenses.
Dr. Markowitz is also a Registered Occupational Therapist and received her Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto in 2002. She welcomes patients with low vision, binocular vision disorders and visual perceptual disorders. She conducts school and work place assessments as well as return to work plans. Dr. Markowitz has written papers and has lectured on the role of Occupational Therapy in Low Vision Rehabilitation.
Dr. Markowitz welcomes patients at either of her offices which are located in the Toronto Western Hospital and the CNIB (Bayview office).
EVELYN
MELARA
Evelyn Melara is the Bookeeper and Administrative Assistant at Eyes First. Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese and Italian, she has worked in eye care for over a decade.
